The Sumatra Heritage Story is a highly detailed illustration showcasing Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the three UNESCO Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra sites. This extraordinary park is the only place on Earth where tigers, orangutans, elephants, and rhinos coexist.
This intricate artwork celebrates the beauty and complexity of Sumatra's wilderness, while also highlighting the delicate balance between nature and human communities.
By encouraging viewers to examine the details, this artwork aims to inspire reflection and action. It prompts us to consider: What would we do if we lived in this environment? What responsibilities do we have as global citizens to protect such precious ecosystems?

The Artist
Lamcat is skilled in landscape illustrations. Her works often begin with research, and she enjoys presenting her findings through map illustrations or traditional Chinese gong bi paintings. Her artistic style uses complex lines and compositions to reveal the complexity and beauty of different regions.

The artist has chosen Gunung Leuser National Park as the subject of her research. She hopes to reconstruct the characteristics of Sumatra through maps.
