A Mobile of Coexistence

A Mobile of Coexistence 城市的共存與平衡

Interactive Installation

ALAN commissioned artwork in 2025

Artwork Description

Set against the ever‑moving rhythm of our cities, this interactive installation explores the delicate balance shared by humans and wildlife. It invites visitors to slow down and consider coexistence—where every presence, from city dwellers to native animals, plays a part in shaping the whole.

Taking the form of a mobile, the work uses balance as both structure and metaphor. Like the city itself, harmony only emerges when all elements find their place. Visitors are encouraged to participate by selecting ornaments and carefully adding them to the mobile. With each small adjustment, the structure shifts, sometimes settling, sometimes tipping.

Through this simple, hands‑on experience, the installation reveals how fragile equilibrium can be. It gently reflects the challenges wildlife faces in a rapidly developing, crowded environment, while reminding us that balance—ecological or social—is not fixed, but something we continually shape together.
