Experiential Journey

Wild Togetherland

WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
THE EXHIBITION

Technology often makes us feel in control, yet the planet has never belonged to us alone. As cities grow faster and denser, wildlife is pushed to adapt—finding ways to survive within landscapes reshaped by human ambition.

Bringing together creative voices from Hong Kong, Japan, and Italy, Wild Togetherland imagines an urban world where humans and wildlife might coexist more thoughtfully. Through playful, multimedia installations set within an urban‑jungle atmosphere, the exhibition invites visitors into a lively journey—one that celebrates curiosity, empathy, and the simple joy of sharing space.

At the heart of the exhibition are interactive, game‑based works that gently reveal the invisible rules humans create and the tensions they produce across species. By amplifying the presence of our often‑overlooked wildlife neighbors, Wild Togetherland opens a space to reflect on coexistence and to re‑imagine what living together—more respectfully and more harmoniously—could look like.

Zone 1 - Becoming a Wildlife Resident

Chair that Grows a Tail - The first step to understanding conflict is learning to see the world through someone else’s eyes or in this case, through an animal’s paws (or maybe even with a tail!). This playful experience invites you to take a symbolic step into the world of coexistence.

In this zone, you’ll be randomly assigned an urban animal through a fun and interactive artwork. Just like in real life, we don’t get to choose who or what we are — and neither do other creatures. So, who will you become? And who will your friends and family transform into?

Zone 2 - Wildlife Neighbours in the City
media

RGB Landscape - At first glance, cities might seem like they’re built solely for humans. But look a little closer, and you’ll start to notice traces of wildlife everywhere around the neighborhood, between buildings, on street corners, and even soaring along the skyline. These wild neighbors have been here all along, making their homes in what we now call the concrete jungle.

Whose place is it — ours or theirs? Or is it both?

Let’s slow down, open our eyes, and take a mindful journey to discover the wild residents who share our urban spaces.

Zone 3 - The power of Balance

A Mobile of Coexistence - In today’s interconnected world, the delicate equilibrium between urban development and wildlife coexistence is more than just a challenge for city planners; it goes to the heart of what it means to respect all forms of life. This section invites you to participate in this experiment to discover the ideal balance — where curiosity guides decisions, small choices carry meaning, and coexistence is shaped not by dominance, but by care, negotiation, and shared responsibility.

Balanced Harmony - It’s easy to stand on the moral high ground and judge others, but what if we are the ones benefiting from the current system? Striking the right balance is no small task—it requires understanding, planning, dedication, and genuine cooperation. It also demands humility: a willingness to listen, to question long‑held assumptions, and to acknowledge that meaningful change often begins with examining our own roles within complex, imperfect systems.

Zone 4 - Law of Nature vs. Law of Humans, who wins?

Urban Animal Fable - Hong Kong boasts a rich and diverse array of species, with thousands of flora and fauna thriving within its approximately 1,000 square kilometres. In this confined space, conflicts between humans and animals are commonplace, and we frequently encounter shocking incidents in our daily lives. These moments often spark strong reactions— fear, frustration, sympathy — yet rarely lead to deeper reflection. As urban density increases and natural habitats shrink, boundaries blur, and encounters intensify. How should humanity coexist with other species, not as intruders or obstacles, but as fellow inhabitants sharing a fragile, interconnected environment?

Toilet Training - Humanity, shaped by rich cultural diversity and unique histories, has developed an incredible variety of lifestyles. Similarly, over millions of years, species on Earth have evolved remarkable ways to survive. Yet, conflicts often, and perhaps inevitably, arise from a lack of understanding and empathy.

What if nature broke the law? Could knowledge and wisdom be the keys to unlocking deeper understanding, fostering empathy, and building a world where coexistence thrives on equality?

It’s a big question, but one worth exploring —  together.

Zone 5 - If Animals could Talk

Interspecies Council - In most societies, there is always space for representatives from different groups to speak up, share their thoughts, and express their challenges and needs. But what about the silent ones? What about those who share our space but do not share our “language”?

This journey is all about critical thinking, empathy, and creativity — proof that no voice, no matter how quiet, should go unheard.

Zone 6 - Wildlife Neighbour Ambassadors

Wildlife Neighbour Ambassadors - While the world may be full of injustices, there is always another side to the story — there are heroes. And there is always hope.

Many unsung heroes have quietly dedicated themselves to protecting the voices and interests of those often overlooked, including our wildlife neighbors. In its final chapter, this exhibition highlights these conservation groups and passionate individuals, sharing their stories of perseverance with the public.

These heroes do not wear capes or possess superpowers — they are ordinary people, just like us. With empathy and creativity, anyone can stand up for biodiversity. Anyone can be a hero.

Today is Your Lucky Day! - In many cultural traditions, bird droppings are considered symbols of luck, prosperity, and good fortune, especially when they happen to fall on you. Turkish myth believes bird droppings bring exceptional luck, while Italians view them as auspicious omens. Although the origins of these beliefs remain uncertain, they may be connected to the concept of birds as messengers of abundance. Through our random sampling, we test your luck index today to see if you might receive the blessing of “Mr. Mo" and obtain today's words of wisdom.
